Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the more common questions in regards to the offered services and selection program.

Why are you helping non-profits?

We created Designers for Non-Profits as a way to give back to the community and help foster causes we believe in. Since we both run our own for-profit agencies we wanted a way to use our skill sets in a charitable way.

Is this really pro bono?

Yep! We provide all of this free of charge — and, there’s no ‘gotcha’ either.

We know a lot of companies offer a free consultation and then upsell you on a paid service. Don’t worry about that happening here — we made a commitment to keep our services pro bono.

What does it take to qualify?

Qualifications are not set in stone (since we’re trying to help as many non-profits as possible) but here are some factors we consider:

  • Size of your non-profit (we’re focused on helping small non-profits)
  • Your non-profit’s cause
  • Do you already have a logo and website

Simply reach out to us and we’ll schedule a quick introduction call. From there we’ll let you know if you qualify.

Will you design my logo?

Unfortunately logo design falls outside of our scope of services. We will gladly point you to resources where you can get a good logo design for a reasonable price — we’ll even consult you through the logo design process.

We do provide assistance with other parts of your brand. Examples are:

  • Vectorizing your logo
  • Creating a brand guide
  • Doing a brand audit

Will you build my website?

Website builds also fall outside the scope of services, so unfortunately we can’t build your website. However, we’ll gladly help you find the resources you need for getting your website built and we’ll consult with you along the way.

We do provide assistance with your website (once it is built):

  • Website Audit
  • WordPress Care Plan (6 months of keeping your plugins and theme up to date)
  • Small visual changes to the website

SERVICE FAQS

FAQs

Why is a Brand Audit important?

Inconsistencies in your brand will eventually dilute and damage your brand. Most of the time these inconsistencies happen over time, which is why they tend to go unnoticed. A Brand Audit will help you identify where your inconsistencies are and how to fix them moving forward.

What are you looking for when doing a Brand Audit?

During the Brand Audit we’re reviewing your most common branded assets (website, social media, printed collateral). We’re looking for inconsistencies between each asset as well as inconsistencies between what your brand is telling others versus what you want your brand to represent.

How long does a Brand Audit take?

Brand Audits typically take two weeks. This includes the process of reviewing everything, putting together your roadmap, and doing your 30 minute consultation.

FAQs

How many revisions do I get?

Each set of collateral comes with two sets of revisions. We’ve often found that by the 2nd set of revisions, we can arrive at a design that you’ll love. Any additional revisions beyond your two sets may be subject to a revision fee.

How long will it take to make my Branded Collateral?

Typically you’ll receive your initial designs within one week, with the revision process lasting one additional week.

Will I get the work files for the designs?

Yes. You’ll receive the work files for your collateral. This way you can make adjustments or new versions as often as you like. You may still need a license to the software though to edit your files.
